Filmmaker

The camera has been my way of making sense of the world for nearly ten years now. I like to keep control of the whole process, so I usually direct, shoot and edit my own work.

I'm drawn to small, strange, ordinary moments that feel like life-or-death situations to the people living them, even if they look insignificant from the outside. I want to bring the energy of popular culture into serious art, and leave enough space for the viewer to connect the dots themselves.

I'm also fascinated by everything invisible that surrounds a film. It's interesting how much expectations and context shape the experience. A work begins to form in the viewer's mind long before they've actually seen it, and understanding that directly influences how I approach my own.
